If a tooth has been broken or damaged by decay, your dentist will try to fix it with a filling, crown or other dental treatment. But when there's too much damage for the tooth to be repaired, the tooth may need to be extracted or removed from its socket in the bone.
WISDOM TEETH
Are the final set of molars that most people get in their late teens to early twenties. If wisdom teeth come in straight and properly aligned they can be a great addition to your mouth. However, if they come in misaligned or impacted they can cause severe problems and extraction may be required.
IMPACTED WISDOM TEETH
Occur when the wisdom tooth only partially emerges from the gum. This allows bacteria to enter around the tooth causing infection and tooth decay. Wisdom teeth can also emerge misaligned. This can result in damage to the adjacent teeth, jawbones or nerves and crowding of the teeth.
